Amazing summer house in France

by in Interior Design

This house in France is part of a project developed by the architect Hugues Tournier. One of the challenges related to the construction of this house is that its` land is situated on a slope. So, the architect configured the entire project according to this detail. The house is built on a modern architectural base and is characterized by simple volumes and horizontal openings. This arrangement adapts perfectly to natural topography, and wood and concrete are the main materials used for the house` building.

Undoubtedly, the central element of this design is the terrace, where it has been also installed a pool. This pool was harmoniously integrated into the house structure, transforming the arrangement into a real vacation house.

Poolside terrace can be the ideal place for a party, and the surrounding landscape transforms the time spent on this terrace in true moments of delight.

If we have to asign this arrangement to a certain style we could say that it would be the minimalist one. Wood, in a very pleasant shade, combined with cement, all “packaged” in straight forms give us the sensation of order.

The chalet was, virtually, covered by laths arranged vertically, and the lines formed by the intervals between these boards give a certain rhythm to the arrangement, which impresses us in terms of vision.

Inside the chalet can be seen the same minimalist influences as in the outside area. This time the architect opted for some simple, white, walls and furniture in the same dark color as the frames of doors and windows. The contrast between walls and furniture offers a very pleasant feeling and delineates space very well.

The living room and the kitchen were merged into one open space area. Very large windows let natural light to enter the room, but also offer an excellent view to the house`s green surroundings.

The living room “communicates” with the bedroom and bathroom through a hallway lighted by many windows. At the end of the hallway is the modern bedroom, decorated in white with an accent wall in a chromatic full of life.

Overall, this house can be an excellent vacation home. It does not impress us much with the interior design, but is more focused on the exterior, namely spending quality time outdoors, in the pool or on the terrace.
