This restored farm, located in the wild environment of Modica hills, near Ragusa, Italy, was the subject of a total renovation and preservation by Platek Architecture. At the moment, the house is destined for tourist accommodation in a rich and full of history area.
The area is an important natural-archeological UNESCO heritage, and this trait is one of the strengths of the Architect Gionvani Maiorana’s project.
"Renovation work of the structure has also allowed us to make it interesting and enjoyable as a tourist proposition, by blending it into the surrounding natural environment." the architects explained.
The perfect outdoor lighting gives a unique atmosphere to the resort, in cohesion with the principles of organic architecture in which the work is based. The creative team completely fulfilled the lighting demands and used the best miniaturized, long-lasting and weather resistant equipment.
The accent is definitely on the use of high-quality materials and the light source LED of latest generation which allowed for perfect integration in the rural context by a desire for eco-sustainability, visual comfort and lighting performance.
The lighting solution for the elegant Resort in Modica allows the enhancement of typical traditional materials, emphasizing the volumes of this classical organic architecture made out of massive stone blocks, by integrating the shapes in a historical and cultural environment of high value.
